About A&E

The Arts & Entertainment Board recognizes the significance of a student’s social experience while attending college. Engagement, entertainment, and constant development are all parts of what members of the Arts & Entertainment Board strive to incorporate in programming for students of Shoreline Community College. In acknowledging the significant role that social and educational programming has on the student experience, part of the organization's goal is to help instill in students a sense of belonging, commitment, and gratitude.

Graphic Designers (Hiring 2):

-Meet with various clients to clarify graphics needs and time sensitive deadlines.

-Design visually attractive and informative print and web communications incorporating design standards and customer needs.

-Interact and collaborate regularly with diverse populations, student clubs, and departments.

-Effectively work both independently and collaboratively, often in environments with frequent interruptions.

-Confidently set priorities and goals; show initiative, be creative and offer constructive solutions.

-Adapt to varied team roles including leader, facilitator, and participant.

Media Technicians (Hiring 3)

-Serve as a member of the Arts and Entertainment Board and attend all staff and supervisory meetings.

-Support campus and club events by setting up and operating technology and sound equipment, including but not limited to: sound boards, microphones, video cameras, amplifiers, and smart classroom projectors.

-Provide room and outdoor set-up for events, including set-up and take-down of tables, chairs, speakers, pop-up tents, etc.

-Maintain campus posting boards and sandwich boards with up to date flyers and posters to inform students about upcoming events and opportunities.

-Track online media requests and help organize calendars for media technicians, sandwich boards, and equipment.

-Interact and collaborate regularly with diverse populations, student clubs, and departments.

-Work with the A&E Event Coordinators to provide additional support during events as needed.

Event Coordinators (Hiring 2)

-Serve as a member of the Arts and Entertainment Board and attend all weekly staff and supervisory meetings.

-Contribute significantly to the improvement of student life on campus by regularly planning and coordinating student events.

-Facilitate all aspects of putting on successful student events—including room reservations, facilities set-up and take-down requests, completing all necessary event paperwork (in advance), coordinating all on-campus promotion and graphic design requests, and arranging for media support requests.

-Solicit participation, schedule, and secure artists and performers for various events.

-Interact and collaborate regularly with diverse populations, student clubs, and departments.
